Panache where it all began.

Panache has a lot to celebrate!
A tribute goes to their patrons that have loyally supported this growing business the past 30 years.

On a regular basis, Panache gives back to many of the charitable organizations that are near and dear to their clientshearts. Every year or so, the staff get together and host a day-long Cut-a-thon/Spa-a-thon to benefit a local charity or group. All their time and talent is volunteered without question! Panache has supported their local Fire and Rescue which are both volunteer, Hope Cuts, a national foundation to benefit those battling cancer, aids, etc. Families with less than fortunate circumstances involving their loved ones, the Troops of Desert Storm, the families of 911 and the YMCA family assistance program to name a few.

The wealth of talent that Panache has been blessed with over the years must share credit to this successful business. The staff's goals, desires and their passion for their craft are in integral part of this combined effort. Panache is proud of the extended knowledge these professionals have to share with their clients. Their ongoing commitment to quality products and services guarantees their clients ultimate satisfaction.

Panache Hair Salon & Day Spa, 491 Route 22 East in Whitehouse Station, turns 32 this year and owner Brenda Hunt is thrilled to be running a thriving business her native hometown for so many years!

Although Brenda grew up in the Clinton area, she has deep roots in Readington Township. Her family owned Stuckey's by the VC Diner on Route 22 until the mid 1970s. She waited tables there and got to know property owner John Smutek, who also owned the Starlite Beauty Salon, a beauty parlor behind the diner. Brenda started her career shortly after cosmetology school (Hunterdon Polytech) as a "beautician" at the Starlite, worked in the Clinton area for 3 years as a "stylist" and eventually came back and bought the shop from John, establishing Brenmar Hair Designs in 1982.

Today's Panache building was built in 1958 and originally housed an excavating business. Brenda and her husband bought it in 1985 and moved over her hair salon in the downstairs and started her family upstairs in that location until 1996 when she opened the spa. She now has a staff of 30 at the mega-popular Panache, where clients' line up for haircut and color services as well as spa services, spa packages and massages

. "I have been driving a speeding locomotive on a fantastic journey for 32 years," Brenda said of her career. Panache is known for their state-of-the-art Hair Extensions, Norvell Airbrush Tanning, NovaLash Eyelash Extensions, Wellness Pedicures and Shellac long-lasting Manicures. Panache's Bridal business, coordinated by Stylist and Makeup Artist - Dana Zadlock, is second to none.

Panache has continued to thrive through this tough economy. In spite of the recent economic turn-down, the spa's Massage, Facial and Pedicure business continues to grow due to the "magic touch" and extensive knowledge of the Day Spa staff. Thorough consultations and expert hair color and hair "smoothing" options have become the secret of the professionals in the Hair Salon. A few years ago, as she heard of more and more job losses with her clients, Brenda chose to cater to her customer base. Leslie Balogh, who has been with Panache for more than 30 years, almost completely "left the chair" and is in charge of the Customer Experience. Her approach has been to take good care of their existing clientele, old and new. "At Panache we don't just give you a haircut or spa experience, we're here to make your day. It is our pleasure!"

Most importantly, the wealth of talent that Panache has been blessed with over the years must share credit to this successful business. The staff's goals, desires and their passion for their craft are in integral part of this combined effort. Panache is proud of the extended knowledge these professionals have to share with their clients. Their ongoing commitment to quality products and services guarantees their clients ultimate satisfaction.

Over the past 10 years, Brenda's children have gotten involved! After attending Hunterdon Central, son Shawn graduated in 2008 from Northeastern University with a degree in Economics. Through the years he has given much insight to his mom regarding the state of the economy and ideas to move forward. Brenda's daughter Danielle also attended Hunterdon Central then Southern Connecticut State University where she graduated in 2011 with a degree in business and marketing. She returned to Whitehouse to share her business talents in the family business.

A tribute goes to the patrons that have loyally supported this growing business the past 32 years. In appreciation, Panache gives back to many of the charitable organizations that are near and dear to their clients' hearts.
